Regeneration & Recovery

Move without negotiating with your body.

Your own fat is one of the richest known sources of mesenchymal regenerative cells. We harvest them gently in office and use them to give a stubborn joint, tendon or recovery a better environment to repair in.

Overview

Your own cells, put to work.

When a joint decides what you're allowed to do, the real question is whether the tissue can be given a better environment to repair in. Adipose-derived regenerative cell therapy uses cells that live naturally in your own fat — including mesenchymal cells — concentrated from tissue harvested during a gentle in-office procedure.

The same Smart Harvest platform behind FunSculpting® collects the tissue, so nothing is wasted. We're candid about what today's evidence supports and about who this isn't for — a clinic willing to say “not you” is the only kind worth trusting here.

Benefits

What regenerative medicine is considered for.

Do more, hurt less

A path for joints and tendons that limit what you do.

Your own tissue

Autologous cells — nothing donated or synthetic, low rejection risk.

One-visit harvest

Gentle in-office collection under local anesthetic.

Physician-sequenced

Best results when hormones, glucose and inflammation are handled first.

Who it's for

Who is evaluated for regenerative care.

Not everyone is a candidate — and we'll tell you honestly at the consultation, before you spend anything.

The regenerative pathway

One harvest. Your own cells, processed and held for the care you may need later.

Most clinics sell a single injection. This is a different model: your tissue is collected once, your cells are isolated and expanded by a specialized laboratory partner, and the result is cryopreserved in your name — so future treatment draws on cells banked at today's biological age rather than requiring another procedure.

01
Harvest

A gentle in-office collection of your own adipose tissue using the Smart Harvest platform behind FunSculpting's contouring procedure — local anesthetic, same-day home.

02
Laboratory processing

The tissue is transported under chain-of-custody to a specialized laboratory partner, where your cells are isolated from the surrounding tissue under controlled conditions.

03
Expansion

Your isolated cells are cultured to increase their number, so a single harvest can support more than one future application rather than requiring repeat procedures.

04
Cryopreservation & banking

The expanded cells are cryopreserved and stored — your own biological material, held for you, labelled to you, available for later use.

05
Future personalized care

When Dr. Dean judges it clinically appropriate, your banked cells can be returned for physician-directed administration — a decision made at the time, on the evidence then available.

Banking your own cells does not guarantee that any future treatment will be appropriate, available, or effective for you. Whether banked cells are ever administered is a clinical decision made by your physician at that time, in line with the regulations and evidence then in force. These services are not FDA-approved for the treatment of any specific condition.

Safety

Not FDA-approved for specific conditions. Performed under physician supervision.

Regenerative and cell-based services are not FDA-approved for the treatment of any specific condition, and are performed only under licensed physician supervision after evaluation. Because the tissue is your own, rejection risk is low, but no procedure is risk-free — harvest carries the usual risks of a minor in-office procedure. Laboratory processing and cryopreservation are performed by a specialized laboratory partner. Banking cells does not guarantee that future administration will be appropriate, available, or effective; that remains a clinical decision made at the time under the regulations and evidence then in force. Candidacy is determined case by case; not everyone is a candidate. Individual results vary.

Common questions

Regenerative medicine questions, answered.

Cells that live naturally in your own fat, including mesenchymal cells, that play a role in how tissue repairs itself. We concentrate them from tissue gently harvested in office. They're your own — nothing donated or synthetic.

It's considered for joint and tendon issues, athletic recovery, and slow-healing tissue — often for active adults who'd rather not begin with surgery. It's not a cure and isn't right for everyone.

Because it uses your own cells, rejection risk is low, though no procedure is risk-free. These services aren't FDA-approved for specific conditions unless stated, and are performed only under physician supervision after evaluation.

The harvest itself is a single in-office session under local anesthetic — you go home the same day. Your tissue then goes to a specialized laboratory partner for processing and cryopreservation, which takes weeks rather than hours. Any later administration of your banked cells is scheduled separately, only if and when Dr. Dean judges it clinically appropriate.

That is decided at an evaluation, not from a web page. Dr. Dean looks at the tissue involved, your imaging and history, what has already been tried, and your overall metabolic and inflammatory picture — which frequently matters more to healing than the procedure itself. We decline cases this is unlikely to help.

PRP is prepared from your blood and concentrates platelets and growth factors. Adipose-derived approaches use your own fat tissue. They are different starting materials with different handling, and they are chosen case by case — see the PRP page for how that option works on its own.
