The physician

Dr. Jeffrey Dean, NMD · FAAMM

“Patients deserve a physician who knows their labs, their story and their goals — not a rotating cast of providers reading from a protocol.”

Dr. Dean has spent twelve years in hormone medicine and, before that, years as a personal trainer and spin instructor — which is why he thinks in terms of capacity and recovery rather than symptom suppression. He builds every plan himself, explains every decision, and reviews every panel personally.

Why he founded Modern Hormone

Dr. Dean kept meeting patients who'd been dismissed with “everything looks fine” while their energy, sleep, drive and recovery quietly disappeared. He founded Modern Hormone to practice the way he believed medicine should work: measure deeply, treat the whole system, own the outcome, and stay with the patient over years rather than visits.

That philosophy is why the practice expanded from hormones into peptides, medical weight loss, regenerative medicine and longevity — because the body doesn't work in silos, and neither should its physician.

Experience

Twelve years in hormone medicine, preceded by years working as a personal trainer and spin instructor.

Clinical focus

What Dr. Dean treats, and where he goes deep.

Every plan at Modern Hormone is built, read and adjusted by Dr. Dean personally — the same physician at the first consultation, the lab review, and the follow-up two years later. His clinical work spans the areas below, which is deliberate: hormones, metabolism, recovery and longevity are one conversation, and splitting them across four providers is how the thread gets lost.

Metabolic & weight

About your physician

Questions patients ask about Dr. Dean.

No. Dr. Dean is a naturopathic physician (NMD) who has spent twelve years focused on hormone medicine, is A4M-certified in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, and completed a fellowship in anti-aging and metabolic medicine in 2025. Endocrinology as a specialty is largely built around diagnosing and managing disease; the work here is optimization — the space between a lab result that is technically normal and a patient who does not feel well. If your situation calls for a disease-focused specialist, you will be told that and referred.

Dr. Dean. He performs the evaluation, reads every lab panel himself, builds the plan and makes the dose decisions. There is no rotating cast of providers and no protocol read from a script.

Precisely: he holds an advanced certification in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), plus the FAAMM fellowship in anti-aging and metabolic medicine. That is not the same thing as an ABMS medical board certification, and we do not describe it as one. What it means in practice is examination and training requirements completed in hormone therapy specifically, rather than hormones treated as a sideline of general practice.

A fellowship in anti-aging and metabolic medicine, completed in 2025. It is post-graduate training in the metabolic, inflammatory and hormonal systems that sit underneath most of what patients come here for.

Naturopathic training puts weight on nutrition, metabolism and whole-system thinking, which is a good fit for a problem that is rarely one number in isolation. Combined with hormone-specific certification, it means the plan considers sleep, metabolism, inflammation and stress alongside the hormone panel — not instead of it.

Yes, and it happens regularly. Some patients are not candidates, and some have symptoms whose cause is not hormonal. Saying so, and referring where needed, is part of the practice rather than an exception to it.

Labs and a conversation first. You'll leave knowing your plan and your price.
